Alyssa Cass on Gov. Hochul’s “smart politics” in retail theft plan

Slingshot partner Alyssa Cass spoke to POLITICO’s Nick Reisman about Governor Hochul’s new plan to address retail theft in New York, and how it represents a shift in Democratic messaging on crime.

“I think this is really smart politics from the governor,” Democratic consultant Alyssa Cass said. “It’s taking away a big talking point for Republicans. They talk about this retail stuff all the time.”
